UNITED STATES OF AMERICA– Martin Luther King, Jr. was a great individual. He helped African-Americans get their rights and helped people think they can do anything.  Now we go to school with every race. There are not a certain restaurants for different races.

Martin Luther King, Jr. day is on Monday, January 18th. Everybody will have off from school. But don’t forget to remember him.

Courtney Valente said, “I think Martin Luther King, Jr. was an inspiration and helped people think they can do something they thought they could never do.”

Amelia Des Marais said, “Well, I think it’s good to celebrate him because he stood up for what was right.”

Back when people used to have to be separated by their color, many places were off limits to many people. Parents didn’t want their children to be with other races. One time, Martin Luther King was playing with boys from another race. Their mom came out and told the boys to stay away from Martin Luther King. That’s why he stood up, so his children didn’t have to go through the same thing.

Martin Luther King believed in peaceful protest. One time, he sat in front of a “No African-American” restaurant until they made them go away. He made many speeches that put hope in every African-American. He made such a difference, and that’s why we celebrate him.
