Pipeline, Yay Or Nay?

NEW YORK– “Eww, tap water!” Some people think that New York tap water is disgusting, Well soon it could be. Due to this problem and leaking, we are getting a new pipeline. However, this could cause some damages or part-time disruptions on the road.

You might not know what a pipeline is. A pipeline is a long pipe that connects to your house on one side and a water source on the other. New York’s pipeline is in the Catskills. However, the one in use was made in 1924. It goes for 92 miles, from the Catskill Mountains to the Hillview Reservoir in Yonkers. Some good effects are that our water quality could go up and that this could help prevent any future problems.  On the other hand, some highways will be blocked off for a long time and some close residents will have constant noise pollution. However, this project will take a long time before it’s over.

OG decides, “I think the idea of making a pipeline is a bad idea. It can cause traffic and disturb the neighborhoods.”

MY explains, “Temporary closed-up highways and noise pollution can be dealt with, and I think it’s better than getting serious illnesses from dirty water. In my opinion, making a new pipeline is a good idea.”

You might be saying, “Wait a minute, when are we able to use this pipeline…tomorrow?” But sorry to burst your bubble, the pipeline won’t be in use until 2035! So let’s drink our water, until next time!
