HUTCHINSON SCHOOL– Have you ever been to Hutchinson’s International Day? Well, April 18 is your next chance! International Day is a day where people (not necessarily from Hutch) set up stands around the building laid out with food, drinks, toys, games, or anything that represents their culture. There will also be a show in the cafeteria with dances, songs, speeches, and more! International Day is a day full of fun for everyone.
You can participate by wearing cultural clothing, doing a performance, setting up a stand, or just simply coming and trying out the different foods! International Day happens every other year, so you better enjoy it before it’s over!
“I’m doing Irish step dancing. I’ll be representing Ireland, and we’ll be performing a reel,” ERO explained.
“I will be representing Japan for International Day. We will be making different types of rice balls and possibly miso soup. We will also be demonstrating the traditional way of wrapping the seaweed onto the rice ball,” OG shared.
“I like the different performances and seeing the differences between cultures.” RM expressed.
Make sure you don’t miss out on International Day! And even if you do, remember that there is always next time. It’s always fun to celebrate each other’s diversity and different cultures. Maybe next time, you could set up a stand and teach others about your culture!
