PELHAM ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS– Every year, as a part of the graduation festivity, all the fifth graders from all the elementary schools (Hutchinson, Prospect, Colonial, Siwanoy) get to go on one huge field trip. This year, the fifth graders get to go to Chelsea Piers in Stamford, Connecticut for an awesome and unforgettable experience!
Chelsea Piers is a place where you can do fun activities like obstacle courses, rock climbing, and play games with others. It’s sort of like a one-day camp experience for visitors. There’s also a skating rink and swimming pool, but those events aren’t available for this particular trip.
“I would rather go to Chelsea Piers because we get to move and play around more,” VC shared.
“It’s fun to go on the field trip, but it will be hard to bond with kids from the other schools,” RM explains.
The field trip used to be to Broadway, but that all changed, thanks to the new rule that we aren’t allowed to go into the city for field trips anymore. Now, since last year, the fifth graders have gotten to go to Chelsea Piers!
This field trip is not only for fun, but also offers time to get to know kids from other schools who will be future classmates in middle school. When it’s your turn to go, remember to have fun, but also meet the other students, so that in middle school, you’ll have familiar faces to turn to!

I remember this trip! Personally I had a really fun time and I hope that the 5th graders did too!
