HUTCHINSON SCHOOL– Here at Hutch and other schools, 5th graders will be graduating, moving on to the next level, and going to new schools. 5th graders are graduating from elementary schools to middle schools. There will be many activities coming up to celebrate the end of the year, like Fun Day, the End of Year Picnic, and the Dinner Dance. Events that had happened a couple weeks ago include the DARE Graduation, and the walk to the middle school, where we also got a tour around, as well.
Fun Day is where the fifth graders get to miss classes and enjoy the day on the field. The End of Year Picnic is where Hutchinson families can put down blankets on the field and have a picnic. The Dinner Dance happens on the night of Juneteenth, when the fifth grade kids and their parents go to a party room and eat dinner. DARE is a program that teaches kids about drugs and alcohol. At the graduation all the students received diplomas for participating.
Some fifth graders are very excited about the upcoming events. “My favorite event this year was Chelsea Piers,” KC shares.
“I’m really excited about the fifth grade dinner dance.” JQ added.
AI says, “In fifth grade, we had a lot of exciting activities. One was field day. We got to do a lot of fun things.”
Finally the fifth graders are graduating. They all have loved Hutchinson so much and are very sad to leave. They hope that future 5th graders will treat the school with respect, but mostly love the school and fifth grade, and don’t rush through the years. Good bye!
