PELHAM MEMORIAL HIGH SCHOOL– What’s “Between The Lines Jr.”? “Between The Lines” is a musical by Jeff Calhoun. Pelham Children’s Theater (PCT) did the Westchester premier of “Between The Lines”. The dates were May 1st – May 3rd at the Pelham Memorial High School auditorium.
The story of “Between The Lines Jr.” starts with a girl named Delilah McPhee. She just moved to a new place with her Mom (Grace McPhee) because her parents got divorced. She is going to a new high school, but she is being bullied by a girl named Allie McAndrews, and her minions (Ryan, Janice, and Martin). However, Delilah finds a book, “Between The Lines”. She loves this book…but then on the page of the wedding with Princess Serafima and Prince Oliver, “HELP” appears on the page, that was never there before. Later on she’s on page 43 and she hears, “~HELLOOO~”. Oliver starts talking to her. In the book when it’s open, the characters are playing the storyline, but when the book is closed the characters can let loose and have fun. Then, Delilah was chilling on her roof when she fell off and appeared in the book. Once she appears, everyone is happy and so excited to host a stranger, but then, Prince Oliver ruins all the fun and shoos everyone away to dance with Delilah. Then Ollie proposes (!!!!!), even though in the book he has a wife. However, there comes the mermaids. Ondine, Marina, and Kyrie come and they sing, “Do It For You”. “Do It For You” is about staying single and doing what you want. But then, Delilah is back in the real world and she’s in the hospital because remember, she fell off the roof. Then we get a time skip and Delilah is having her story put in Teen Vogue. Then she lives happily ever after.
