HUTCHINSON SCHOOL– Mrs. Gentile and the fifth grade student government organized a special week full of fun for all the people, students and teachers, here at Hutchinson. Yes, you guessed it! It’s Kindness Week!
If you look around the TV monitor near the atrium and around the stairs, you will find signs with inspirational, kind sayings. These signs were made by the student government and Gia’s Kindness Club participants. There are also posters with information about Kindness Week, like the different dress-up days and nice things to do for others each day.
“Mrs. Gentile asked us in the student government to participate every day, especially because it was a week special to her,” ERO shared.
“One way to spread kindness is to do something as small as giving a compliment to as big as cleaning up a park,” RM explained.
Kindness Week was also full of different “dress-up” days. For example, on Monday, it was Color Day (wear your favorite color) as well as Meet Someone New Monday (meet someone new)! On Friday, it was Purple Day (wear purple), and also Friendly Friday (include others). These were just some ways you could spread kindness and cheer, not just during Kindness Week, but any day!
As Gia said, “If you spread your kindness with others, it will always come back to you.”

I am being totally honest, it is so nice to read about the Hutch spirit and Kindness Weeks. As a girl who participated in every day, every time, this makes me miss Hutch and Spirit Weeks so much! Truly well written article! Great Job!
