CELEBRATED WORLDWIDE– What do you celebrate for the winter holidays? Are you waiting for Santa on Christmas Eve, or lighting up your candles for Hanukkah on your menorah? Whichever one you do is great!
Christmas is a day when you get up from bed, all excited, and open up your presents. Hanukkah is an eight-day holiday when you light up your candles on your menorah.
MS says, “On Christmas Eve, we stay up late, around midnight, and we read a book called The Novena. Then we sing or say our prayers.” Seems like some people do prayers on Christmas Eve!
MY also says, “Every year on Christmas Eve, my church has a Christmas Eve service and it’s where you listen to the choir and my family goes every year, and every time it is always very fun!” Well that’s a lot of prayers.
Let’s move on to Hanukkah. AS says, “For Hanukkah, I stay at my house and light the candles with my family and open presents. We also eat chocolate coins.”
Christmas was the day Mary and Joseph gave birth to Jesus, and Hanukkah’s 8 days are the 8 days that the bottle of oil burned after Judas Maccabeus recaptured the Second temple in Jerusalem.
All of these fun times have passed, but don’t forget, February holidays, like Chinese New Year is coming up!

Such an amazing article. So nice to hear that even though you may not celebrate, you are still taking time to think about them!!!
