Black History Month

During February, it’s time to think of all the leaders that helped us to change the unfair laws. They taught people “not to judge each other by skin color, but by the context of their character,” as Martin Luther King, Jr. stated.

These leaders led us with peace and tried to steer away from violence. Just some of these leaders were Rosa Parks, Abraham Lincoln, Betsy Ross, Ruby Bridges, and Martin Luther King, Jr. These leaders made the world a better place.

Hutchinson school’s 4th and 5th graders did a Town Hall Meeting about a few of the leaders.

Julia Scotto said, “The Town Hall Meeting was fun.  I liked what our leaders did for the world.”

I also loved what the leaders did for our world. I think the world would still have slaves and segregation without them.

Our leaders did a lot to change the world today. I couldn’t imagine the world any differently. So get ready to take a blast to the past and learn what these great leaders did.
