HUTCHINSON SCHOOL– Have you ever wondered what the new principal is all about? On October 9th, 2024, Ms. Kean-Thompson, the new principal of Hutchinson School, was interviewed.
Ms. Kean-Thompson started at Hutchinson in August. At first, when Ms. Kean-Thompson was brand new to the school, she went around the school with Ms. Gilbert, the interim principal for Hutch, at the time. She learned all about the school. She went into our classrooms, got tours of the halls, and got to meet all the teachers. Now that she is more familiar with the school, she has taken over the building.
When asked about her favorite part of Hutchinson School, she responded, “The kids are amazing.”
When asked how Hutchinson compares to her previous school, she shared, “This school is in the middle of a neighborhood next to town. The school that I was at before was kind of in the middle of the woods.”
According to Ms. Kean-Thompson, “Being a principal is like being a teacher of the building with lots and lots of students. I can help lots of people, kids, and grown-ups in lots of different ways.”
When asked what other job she would have enjoyed if she weren’t a principal, Ms. Kean-Thompson replied, “If I wasn’t a principal, I would have gone to school for fashion designing.”
