You’re ten, and your mom gives you a letter from the region’s professor! What could it be?!

Which starter Pokemon?  Well, it depends on what region you live in, but all the types are the same:  Grass, fire and water.  All the grass types are:  Bulbasour, Chikorita, Treeko, Turtwig, Snivy, and Chespin. The water types are:  Squirtle, Totodile, Mudkip, Piplup, Oshawott, and Froakie. The fire types are: Charmander, Cyndaquil, Torchic, Chimchar, Tepig, and Fennekin.

“I would want a water type,” says 5th grader Binta Lewin.

5th grader Daniel Cullen says “I think the starters are the right type.”

3rd grader Gianluca Marchese says, “My favorite starter Pokemon is Snivy.”  Snivy is from the Unova region.

So choose grass, fire, or water. It’ll be your bestie for life. But first, it has to match your personality. If you get fired up easily and have a loud voice, fire’s the one! If you like to stay cool in all situations, but still are tough, you’re meant for water! If you love the feeling of wind on your face and love to be with the trees, you were born to be with grass!

So, choose! You’ll have to train to become the very best! Go ahead and catch ’em all!
