Hi, I’m Dahlia. Last year I did the Hutchinson News, a student-run newspaper run by my friends and me. When we first started, we only had 3 people in our newspaper, but every time we published a newspaper, the line for people wanting to join would grow! Soon we had 5 people, which turned into 10 people, which turned into 15 people, and it was a mess. Then slowly but surely, the people started working together. It was so cool to see people work together and instantly I decided that’s what I wanted to do in 5th grade. Okay, now that I’ve explained why I want to be here, let me tell some facts about myself. First, I’m a swimmer. I’m in gold, which is the highest level. I really enjoy swimming and want to do it forever. Another sport I do is figure skating. I’m level six. I can do fancy spins and that cool thing where you put one leg in the air and lean forward. That’s called a spiral. The only thing I don’t like about ice skating is that once you get really good, you need to wake up early and I’m not a morning person. I started when I was 6, but why I started is another story. Now I’m 10 years old. I have 2 sisters, both younger.
