“Wonder” is Wonderful!
Today I am going to tell you about the book Wonder!!!
This story is about a boy named August whose face is deformed. When his mother tells him he is going to stop being home-schooled and he is going to a real 5th grade school, he is afraid that kids will make fun of him for his deformity. August had many surgeries to try to make his face more normal, but no one really understood that it does not matter what is on the outside; it only matters about what is on the inside of a person.
Natalia Sujica reported, “I think that Wonder is about a kid moving to a new school because my brother said it and he read it, and I can’t wait to read it.”
My mom, Janet Maguire, shared, “Wonder is one of my favorite books. I really love Auggie’s teacher’s precept of ‘if you have to choose between being right or being kind, choose kind.'”
These are some of the people along the ride with August: His sister, Via [which stands for Olivia], August’s parents, and his good friends, Jack and Summer.
I hope you think about reading the book Wonder next. Trust me, you wont regret it!
