HUTCHINSON SCHOOL– At Hutchinson Elementary, students have just finished the Read-A-Thon! For 3 weeks, they were up and at it at reading!
Hutchinsons Read-A-Thon lasts for 3 weeks to read as much as you can. This Read-A-Thon is optional; however, it is encouraged for students to participate. Let’s see what these winners have to say!
Week One Read-A-thon winner, JQ, noted, “I feel happy that I won and every day I read because I wanted too!”
Week Two winner, ZJ, reported, “I’m happy and I read a lot.”
“I’m really happy I won and I read over 1,000 minutes,” added Week 3 winner, TK.
Believe it or not, all of the 4th grade winners were from 4R.
Before making the announcement of the winners, the school had to look at everyone’s reading log, count up all the minutes read in all, and find the winners in each grade. Each week, there’s a chance that there could be new winners and repeated winners. If you’re a winner, it means you read the most minutes in your grade. Each winner gets a prize each week; however each prize is different.
Hutchinson Read-A-Thon isn’t just about winning; it’s about expanding your reading stamina and encouraging other kids to read. It is also fun to compete!
