HUTCHINSON SCHOOL– The 5th grade went on a field trip to Saint Paul’s Cathedral, but something went wrong!
The whole 5th grade field trip got cancelled once, on October 23rd, and it was late when we did go on October 29th. Nobody was very happy with the bus being very late and not coming, though.
The bus got delayed because the bus company was super late, and didn’t even come after 30 minutes, so students and teachers went back inside and scheduled a new one for a different date. That one did come, still late though, and the 5th grade finally went on the field trip. Everyone was feeling impatient about the situation.
But during the trip, it was fun and students learned a lot of things. Saint Paul’s Cathedral is a place where you learn about the Revolutionary War and all the things that happened! The 5th grade got to see all of their graves and learn about the people’s pasts and how old they were, places they used to work on devising a plan against British armies, where they got treated if they were hurt, and one section had maps and models showing wars or places where it was all happening!
RLS said, “I learned how hospitals worked back then, and how it was very painful.”
GAF also replied, “I liked learning how the oldest grave in New York is in Westchester.”
Lastly, CV said, “I learned that in the olden days when someone died, they were put in the same section as their dead relatives.”
It all turned out well and everyone had a fun time learning new things at Saint Paul’s Cathedral! You can check it out someday if you’d like!
