Martin Luther King, Jr. Day!

UNITED STATES–Martin Luther King, Jr. Day has just happened!  This year it was on January 20th, 2020.  Martin Luther King, Jr. did something that America won’t forget!

On Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, schools get the day off, for it is a holiday.  We always celebrate it on the third Monday of January.  Martin Luther King, Jr.  stood up for what he believed and did a lot to stop segregation.

FM shared, “I like Martin Luther King, Jr. Day because it’s nice to celebrate the man who changed America.”

“I think it’s a good day to remember how he stopped segregation,” voiced LC.

People think it’s a good day to think about what Martin Luther King, Jr. achieved.  An abbreviation for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is MLK Day.  Martin Luther King, Jr. was a Civil Rights leader.  Martin Luther King, Jr. made a very famous speech called, “I Have A Dream” and was born on January 15, 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia.
