AMERICA AND CANADA–Thanksgiving is a great time to give thanks for everything you are grateful for, and for everything you have that some people don’t have.

Thanksgiving is a native holiday celebrated on various dates in the United States, Canada, some Caribbean islands, and Liberia. It started as a day of giving thanks and sacrifice for the blessing of the  harvest and of the preceding year.  The event that Americans commonly call “the first Thanksgiving” was celebrated by the Pilgrims after their harvest in the New World in October, 1621.

Some people celebrate Thanksgiving by watching  sports, hanging out with friends, and most people celebrate by having a big family dinner with turkey, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, and more.

V.W. says, “I don’t like Thanksgiving except for my mom’s food.”

Z.M. says, “Thanksgiving is a great time to spend with your family.”

So those were a few facts about Thanksgiving!
