International Day
HUTCHINSON SCHOOL– International Day was very fun. It was a time when people form different countries got to bring food and/or do a dance or something special.
At International Day, people got to bring food and wear traditional clothing. There were 30+ countries participating. People from India did some Indian dances and people from China sang, “Twinkle twinkle little star.” There was more too, such as an Isle of Dominica dance and a bullfight from Spain.
R.J. shared, “I did Russia and served Russian dumplings and crepes.”
K.S. voiced, “I felt proud and amazing to be representing my culture through a fun dance.”
L.B. said, “International Day is the best! We celebrate cultures from Hutchinson and love our diverse community!”
People showed different ways of their cultures. 300 people were there and they loved the food. They also loved the singing and dancing.
“This is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen in Pelham,” Alessandra Biaggi (NY state senator) commented.
